Overview & Format
BOND is a physical competition series in which eight pre-existing duos — real partners with real relationships — face off inside a purpose-built arena. Every episode, every duo competes. The weakest finisher goes home. No votes. No deliberation. The arena decides.
The show is built on a single premise: performance under pressure reveals the truth of any relationship. Partners who train together, live together, or have competed together for years will discover whether that history becomes an advantage — or a liability.
The Duos
All competitors enter as pre-existing pairs. Couples, siblings, best friends, teammates, parent and child — the nature of the relationship varies, but the requirement is the same: these two people already know each other. No strangers are matched by producers. The bond came first.
Episode Structure
Each episode follows a consistent four-part format.
The BriefingThe host presents the challenge. Rules, format, and any active advantages are declared before competition begins.
The ChallengeAll remaining duos compete simultaneously or in heats. Partners function as a single unit — both must perform.
The BoardResults are posted. The duo with the lowest score or slowest time is eliminated immediately. There is no second chance within the episode.
The Send-OffThe eliminated duo is given a final moment before leaving the arena.
The Arena
All competition takes place inside a permanent, purpose-built arena. The environment is modular — reconfigured between episodes so no challenge runs the same course twice. The arena is not set dressing. It is the third competitor.
The Finale
The final two duos compete in a single climactic event — longer, more complex, and higher-stakes than anything preceding it. The event is designed to test every dimension covered across the season: endurance, synchronization, communication, and trust. The winning duo takes $125,000.
Rules & Scoring
BOND operates on a performance-only elimination system. There is no voting, no panel judgment, and no audience input. Standing is determined entirely by measurable output — time, score, or completion — within each challenge.
Core principle: Both partners must complete the challenge for the result to count. A duo is only as strong as its weaker half.
Elimination
Last Place ExitsThe duo finishing last — by score or time — is eliminated at the end of that episode. There are no ties in the rules; a tiebreaker procedure is held on-site if scores are equal.
No Partial CreditIf one partner fails to complete their required component, the duo's result is recorded as a Did Not Finish (DNF) and they are placed last regardless of the other partner's performance.
No AppealsRulings by the head official are final. Results posted to The Board are not subject to review after posting.
Weekly Winner
Top Finisher RewardedThe duo with the best result in each episode earns a reward or competitive advantage to be used in a subsequent episode.
Advantage TypesAdvantages may include: a head start in the following challenge, selection of heat order or challenge format, a one-episode immunity, or a cash amount banked toward the finale purse.
Non-TransferableAdvantages belong to the duo that earned them and cannot be traded, sold, or assigned to another pair.
Scoring Reference
| Result Type | Description | Standing Impact |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Best score or fastest time among all duos | Weekly winner — earns advantage |
| 2nd–(N-1) | All mid-field finishers | Safe — no reward, no consequence |
| Last | Lowest score or slowest time | Eliminated immediately |
| DNF | One or both partners did not finish | Automatically placed last — eliminated |
Conduct
InterferenceAny duo found to have deliberately interfered with another duo's performance is subject to disqualification at the head official's discretion.
Safety StopsA challenge may be paused or terminated by production for safety reasons. Results at the time of stoppage will be used to determine standing unless a re-run is called.
